SMC Bikes

Team SMC’s philosophy is simple. We love bikes & we exist to provide a service for you, our friends and fellow bike enthusiasts. It’s more than just the bikes, it’s about people too, great people like you! Pop down for a chat soon & find out for yourself what makes us so different.

There’s always a welcome, fun & laughter at SMC, it’s not just a place to buy bikes, SMC is a place to belong & enjoy!

To learn about Team SMC, click on a mugshot!

SMC was founded by Directors Frank & Sue Hayes in May 2006 when they bought the branch from CMC Chesterfield Motorcycle Centre and was officially launched on the 1st of June 2006. Have you been to one of our charity support events yet? If not, you’re missing out BIG TIME! Our favourite charities are the Sheffield Children’s Hospital appeal and the South Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Since our launch we’ve become established as the premier bikes venues serving Sheffield, Chesterfield, Doncaster and the surrounding Derbyshire / South Yorkshire area. In June 2008, we needed to move premises when Tesco bought the land and leases of our previous location. So we decided to cement our commitment to the future of bikes in Sheffield by purchasing a permanent home for SMC and our fellow enthusiasts.

SMC is more than just a bike shop. SMC is the place to be, we have an extremely popular bike meet every Saturday throughout the year! Our European tours & motorcycle rideouts are always popular. We host many special event weekends throughout the year, inviting live bands, stunt riders and special guests from the motorcycling World.

This was a massive investment, in time, effort and finance, but we didn’t stop there, we introduced a New Suzuki franchise to add to our existing Yamaha dealership, added the best brands of clothing and helmets available on the market today and purchased a brand new, state of the art Dyno! We make sure that we cater for everyone, Learners, Commuters, Ladies, Cruisers, Tourers, Sports and even Classic bike fans.........

SMC Bikes was founded on June 1st 2006.

In November 2006, SMC we're runners up in the MCN awards! In 2007, Team SMC we're affected by the 'Great Flood'. We completed a huge clean up operation & re-opened in just 2 days!

In 2008, Team SMC relocated our entire dealership in just 3 days, not only that, we added the Suzuki franchise too! In 2009, SMC were voted as the Ride Magazine's Rider Power survey no.3 dealership!
